In the studio we were given the task of creating a 'magic film' using only 3 edits. We had to think about composition, use of light and finally the 'magic' scene. In a team of 4, we decided to create a film about loneliness- a girl is alone and she thins that she sees someone to be friends with. A mannequin turns into a real life girl, and after some rotations of the camera the girl turns back into a mannequin, and finally completely dissappears. We attempted to use only 3 cuts, but we ended up having to use 4 due to a lack of time which meant we were unable to re-shoot a scene. Overall, I feel as if our film was effective, however to improve, we could be a lot more slick with our prop changing and positioning the camera better. This would improve the 'magic' feel as the entire film would be edited more smoothly.
