I used my first mood board to create some design sketches for an armour-inspired piece of clothing. I decided to make a collar piece with shoulder pads rather than a helmet, which I had originally considered making. I decided to do this instead as I could take samples from the helmets that I looked at in the V&A, and use them elsewhere. The process involved much problem solving, for example figuring out how I would be able to place the piece on and off of a model, and making sure that I did not make too many separate parts. I struggled to keep the smaller parts attached sometimes, which was my main difficulty due to the amount of detail that I tried to maintain. However, I managed to successfully place my finished piece onto a model to see how it fitted and looked. Some adjustments needed to be made to the neck part as it was too high and difficult to be worn.
