Film making- single shot attempt crit

The second film we were asked to make in the studio was a single shot film. This was a challenging task, as we had to work as a team to produce a single shot scene with a big reveal at the end. My team decided to focus on setting the film in a lift, by using a first person camera shot. The camera represents the view of the watcher, an everyday person who is using the lift, talks to people in the lift, and presses the buttons. I feel as if we used specific details well, such as pointing the camera down as if avoiding eye contact with strangers in the lift, and attempting to piece together elements of the film such as people leaving the lift and being crucial to the story. However, I feel as if we could have achieved the surprise reveal at the end better than we had. At the end, the person in the lift was supposed to dramatically discover a dead body, but instead we used a coat, water bottle and pass to suggest that someone had been killed. We should have used an actual person lying on the floor to achieve the sense of horror when the lift doors open. despite this though, the film ended up being quite funny , even if we did not intend it to be. We also managed to stay conscious of lighting, positioning and the composition of props in the frame.
